Not sure what this proverb means, but it could mean what’s good for you is good for me. Also, probably more specific, is what’s good for her is good for her him. This could apply to a girl and her boyfriend or a husband and wife.

1.a goose is female, gander is a male goose
2.gander in slang implies “take a long look”
